An automated
telephone dialler that allows people at risk to make automatic telephone calls
for assistance to emergency services, relatives, friends or neighbours by simply
pressing a transmitter button conveniently worn as a pendant. The dialler,
although extremely simply to setup and use, is packed with features not normally
associated with a product of this price. When the transmitter button is pressed
the dialler will call up to four stored emergency contact numbers. A built in
voice sampler allows you to record your own message of up to 30 seconds, enough
time to relay name, address and a contact telephone number. When one of the
emergency contact numbers answers a call, a built in intercom allows
conversation between the user and the recipient of the call. The dialler has a
large dial start button located on the top of the unit making it suitable for
sight impaired and disabled people with limited dexterity. In addition, four
large buttons with graphics representing emergency services can be used for
direct dial out to Fire, Police, Ambulance, and Doctor. One press of the button
will call the respective emergency number.

UP AND USE
The dialler is powered by a 12V power adaptor and has battery backup supplied by
4 X AA batteries that are fitted into an integral battery compartment. In the
event of mains power failure, the dialler automatically reverts to battery
power, useful in rural areas or where an elderly person or a Dementia or an
Alzheimer patient may accidentally unplug the adaptor from the mains supply.
When the dialler makes a call it operates as follows; User presses pendant
transmitter, dialler calls first emergency number, recipient answers call,
emergency message played to recipient, intercom automatically switches in for
two way conversation for up to three minutes. Emergency number busy, dialler
disconnects line for 5 seconds then redials first emergency number (maximum of
15 attempts), if still busy the second number is dialled and so on until a call
is answered.
In addition to providing use as an excellent care alarm, the dialer is equipped
with inputs and outputs to suit all automated dialling requirements. An input is
provided for use with relay outputs that will trigger dialling sequences for use
with security and fire alarm panels. There is also an output to trigger other
devices.
